Changes will be made in traffic of trams No. 5, 6, 9 and 11 as of March 1

Having considered passenger demand and habits, "Rīgas satiksme" will make changes in traffic of tram route No. 6 as of March 1. In some sections, tram route No. 6 overlaps and is coordinated with other tram routes, therefore corrections will be made in traffic of tram routes No. 5 and 9 to ensure regular traffic on all the above tram routes.

See changes here.

In addition, from March 2 the number of runs for trams No. 5 and 6 will be increased in the hours of the highest passenger demand, while levelling out the number runs in the hours of low passenger demand. Changes will be also made in the last two runs of tram No. 6 on workdays (at 00:10 and 00:32) in direction from Jugla. These two trams will run from Jugla to Railway Terminal Square and then to tram depot No. 5 at Brīvības Street. All these changes were preceded by extensive research work and passenger flow measurements.

It should be reminded that tram route No. 6 is the most demanded public transport route in Riga, with  9 818 275 passengers carried in 2014.

Given the above changes, from March 2 there will be new workday schedules for tram routes No. 5, 6 and 9, and from March 1 small corrections will be also made in holiday schedules of tram routes No. 5 and 11.
